00:00 I was in New [music] York and I was

00:01 having a really hard time with the job

00:03 just because of how taxing it was, the

00:05 emotional capacity that I was having

00:07 [music] to get through every day.

00:09 And

00:11 I decided to delete my Instagram because

00:13 I just felt like I was so addicted

00:14 [ music]

00:15 to this kind of false version of my life

00:17 that it was just taking over. I would be

00:19 on set working, I'd come and sit in

00:20 [music] my chair and just scroll,

00:21 scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll and it

00:23 was

00:24 it was becoming a problem. I was just

00:26 obsessed with it and I was obsessed

00:28 [music] to find out what people were

00:29 saying and how people what they thought

00:31 about me.

00:32 So I decided to

00:33 make an announcement, [music] which

00:35 unfortunately we have to do, and say

00:37 that I'm taking a break from social

00:38 media and I and I tried to position

00:40 myself

00:41 >>[ music]

00:41 >> and say like I'm taking a break from

00:42 social media because I feel like my

00:44 mental health will benefit from it. And

00:46 the thing that really upset me is the

00:47 press ran [music] with that and they

00:49 tried to make out that I was having this

00:52 mental breakdown. If I was having a

00:54 mental breakdown, that's not for you to

00:56 report on. They they they took the story

00:58 in the wrong direction and they they

01:00 painted again this negative light on

01:02 mental health [music] rather than saying

01:05 oh, he's doing it, it's okay that he's

01:07 doing it, so we should all feel okay to

01:09 do it too. They [music] were saying oh,

01:10 look, he's not the perfect

01:12 happy-go-lucky kid you think he is. He's

01:14 having a nervous breakdown in New York.

01:16 Like the the message of our show is that

01:18 asking for [music] help should be

01:19 something that we celebrate.

01:21 >> Yeah. If you're struggling, if you need

01:22 help,

01:23 if you feel bad and you wake up and and

01:25 you go to a friend, a therapist, a

01:27 [music] teacher, an employee, or a

01:29 colleague, you can say I'm really I need

01:31 some help. That should be something that

01:33 we give you a pat on [music] the back.

01:34 Like I would love to help you.

01:36 I'm I'm delighted that you asked me.

01:38 Yeah, it doesn't have to be a

01:39 professional.

01:40 >> Yeah.

01:40 >>[ music]

01:41 >> I go to my friends a lot and and, you

01:43 know, some friends are better than

01:44 others in certain situations. I've got

01:46 some friends that are very much like

01:47 pull your socks up and get on with it

01:48 and then other friends who are like come

01:50 here and have a cry on my shoulder, but

01:52 like it it varies. So I I just really

01:54 hope that that's what the show can do is

01:56 [music] is sort of paint this positive

01:58 picture of asking for help is something

02:00 to be proud of.

02:01 >> Well, that's a great message and and I

02:02 think we all we all need to hear it. And

02:04 I want to go back a little bit because

02:06 you

02:07 decided to take a break from acting.

02:10 [ music]

02:10 >> It's only a break from acting because

02:12 I'm an actor.

02:14 It's not like the acting itself. I just

02:16 have been so lucky that in my life I've

02:18 been working so much. I just wanted to

02:20 take a break. I just wanted to be in one

02:22 place for a while. I wanted to be with

02:24 my friends, be with my family,

02:26 >>[ music]

02:26 >> move into my house.

02:28 So, it wasn't necessarily

02:30 oh my god, I need to have a break from

02:31 acting cuz it's [music] too much. I just

02:33 needed to have a break from traveling

02:35 and and working and and also, I've done

02:38 so much of my growing up on the road. I

02:40 needed to do a lot of growing up at

02:42 home. Paying my water bill, paying my

02:45 council tax and sorting out my bins and

02:47 all that sort of stuff that they don't

02:48 teach you at school, which I think there

02:50 should be a lesson. I think there should

02:51 be a lesson at school that's called

02:52 life,

02:53 which is like laundry, basic cooking,

02:56 like

02:57 I didn't realize [music] you have to pay

02:58 for your water. I just thought that was

03:00 a luxury of living in England that the

03:01 water comes out of the sky and then it

03:03 comes out of your tap. I was so behind

03:05 on my water bill. I didn't realize. I'm

03:07 up to date now, don't worry.

03:09 >>[ laughter]

03:09 >> So, yeah, I just wanted to take this

03:10 break and it's a shame again talking

03:12 about the press and how they can spin

03:14 things [music] and that they kind of ran

03:16 with this idea that yes, the show did

03:18 break me and yes, it was difficult, but

03:20 I could have gone back to work. I was

03:22 always planning on taking [music] this

03:23 break after this job.

03:24 >> I've definitely walked away from a lot.

03:26 >> Mhm.

03:27 >> And I think had I not walked away from

03:28 certain situations, let's just put it at

03:30 that, I would be a very different person

03:32 today.

03:33 >> Mhm.

03:34 >> I've been really good at keeping [music]

03:35 in touch with my friends, keeping my

03:37 family close, listening to the lessons,

03:39 [ music]

03:40 not getting caught up in the Hollywood

03:42 hype. Like I really am a massive fan of

03:45 making movies, but I really do not like

03:47 Hollywood. It is not for me. The

03:49 business [music] really scares me. I

03:51 understand that I'm a part of that

03:53 business and I enjoy my kind of

03:54 interactions with it, but that said,

03:56 [ music]

03:57 I am always looking for ways to kind of

04:00 remove myself from it, to kind [music]

04:01 of just live as normal a life as

04:03 possible. But yeah, I definitely think

04:06 it has been an ongoing thought,

04:09 which is don't lose yourself. I've seen

04:11 so many people come before me and lose

04:13 themselves, [music] and I've had friends

04:15 that I've grown up with that aren't

04:17 friends of mine anymore because they've

04:18 lost themselves to this business.

04:20 And

04:21 >>[ music]

04:21 >> I just am really, really keen to focus

04:23 on what makes me happy, which is my

04:25 family, [music] it's my friends, it's my

04:27 carpentry, my golf, um the charity that

04:30 my mom runs. Like that is the stuff

04:32 [music] that makes me really happy, and

04:33 that's the stuff that I should protect.

04:35 My relationship is the thing that I keep

04:37 most sacred. I don't talk about it.

04:40 >>[ music]

04:40 >> I try my best to keep it as private as

04:42 possible. We both feel very strongly

04:44 that that is the [music] healthiest way

04:45 for us to to move on as a couple. So I

04:48 do try to keep as removed [music] from

04:50 it as possible. Like you'll never see me

04:52 at an award show I don't have to be at.

04:55 I'm never going to a red carpet event

04:57 that I'm [music] not in the film of, you

04:59 know. I don't want the attention when I

help_outline FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the transcript of a YouTube video?

Paste the video link into the field on this page. AudioCap reads the video captions and shows the full transcript with timestamps in a few seconds, free and without an account. It works for normal videos and Shorts.

Is the YouTube transcript generator really free?

Yes, and here is exactly where the line is. YouTube captions are free with no account and no limit: we only fetch and clean what Google already made. Your own uploads run on paid speech recognition, so without an account a file may be up to 30 minutes long, you get 90 minutes a month, the first 10 minutes of a long recording are transcribed and the first 5 are readable. A voice message or a short clip is therefore free and complete. With a free account the file limit goes to 2 hours and the readable part to 10 minutes. Reading a long recording to the end costs 100 credits per 10 minutes, and 500 credits are 5.50 EUR, so a one hour lecture is about 5.50 EUR and the rest of it is transcribed the moment you unlock it.

What is an SRT file and what do I need it for?

SRT is the standard subtitle format: numbered blocks with a start time, an end time and the spoken text. Video editors such as CapCut, Premiere Pro and Final Cut import it directly as a subtitle track, and YouTube Studio accepts it for clean captions on your own videos.

How accurate are the transcripts?

YouTube transcripts are exactly as good as the captions of the video: uploader-written captions are usually excellent, auto-generated ones can contain recognition errors. Uploaded files are transcribed with professional AI speech recognition including automatic speaker detection; clear audio without background noise gives the best results.

What does an account give me, and what costs money?

An account is free and raises the limits: files up to 2 hours instead of 30 minutes, 60 minutes a month, 10 readable minutes instead of 5, three translation languages instead of one, and your history is kept instead of pruned after 30 days. Money only ever buys one thing: reading a long recording past the free cut, at 100 credits per 10 minute block. Credits come in packs (500 for 5.50 EUR, 2000 for 22 EUR, 5000 for 55 EUR), they do not expire, and nothing is charged automatically, ever. YouTube transcripts stay free at any length.

Why does a YouTube video have no transcript?

A transcript only exists when the video has captions. They can be missing because the creator disabled them, because YouTube has not finished auto-generating them yet (new videos can take a few hours), or because the video is private. In that case you can still download the audio or video yourself and upload the file here.

Can I download the transcript as a text or subtitle file?

Every transcript can be downloaded as a plain text file (TXT) or as a subtitle file (SRT). You can also select several transcripts and download them together as one ZIP.

How do I add subtitles to a video?

Upload your video, let AudioCap transcribe it, then click "Video with captions". The subtitles are burned permanently into the picture and you download a ready-to-post MP4, ideal for Shorts, Reels and TikTok.

Is it legal to transcribe YouTube videos?

Reading a transcript for personal use, study or research is generally fine, and the captions are public on YouTube itself. The content still belongs to the video creator, so republishing or selling whole transcripts needs the rights holder's permission. This is general information, not legal advice.
